I want to take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome to the participants, supporters, and friends of the Chinese Cultural Centre’s annual Music Festival. Our mission is to assist in developing the wonderful talent of our participants by offering a myriad of performance opportunities at the Festival, and in so doing we also celebrate the brilliant music written by towering geniuses of the past and present!
The study of a musical instrument enhanced by numerous performance opportunities enables young people to master disciplined learning, a skill needed to excel in any profession. In addition, cognitive studies continually reaffirm that those who study music bring more creative thinking to all of their future endeavors. Some of the participants we hear this week will choose music as a profession, and some won’t, but the instrumental study is always a benefit to all, so we are happy to nurture the growth of the next generation by providing opportunities in which they are able to showcase their musical achievements.
